Marie Osmond is joining The Talk as a replacement for co-host, Sara Gilbert, who will be leaving the daytime show at the end of the current season.
Less than a month after The Conners star announced she was sadly leaving the CBS daytime talk show, her seat at the cohost table has been filled by Osmond. TMZ broke the news Wednesday afternoon, sharing the famous singer will join hosts Sheryl Underwood, Eve, Carrie Ann Inaba and Sharon Osbourne come this fall.
CBS has not released a statement yet on adding Osmond as a cohost. However, an official announcement will reportedly take place this upcoming Tuesday during the show. The singer is also in the middle of her residency with her brother, Donny Osmond, at The Flamingo in Las Vegas, but it is set to wrap up in November.

Gilbert decided to leave the show, where she has had a seat at the table since its debut because she needed to balance her life better.
“Last season, I did The Conners and was also producing and hosted here. I loved it and felt totally empowered, but also, if I’m being honest about it, my life was slightly out of balance. I wasn’t able to spend as much time with my three kids as I’d like, or time for myself,” Gilbert said, as part of her announcement message.
The same day it is reported Marie Osmond will take over for Sara Gilbert as a host on The Talk, rumors began circulating Julie Chen was looking to come back to the show. She was one of the original hosts but departed last summer following her husband Les Moonves sexual misconduct scandal.
A source told Straight Shuter podcast host, Rob Shuter, the Big Brother host thought Gilbert’s departure might be the perfect opportunity for her to return. Chen has not responded to the rumors nor has she given any indication she was interested in rejoining the show.
