Selena Gomez Talks Therapy As More Celebrities Open Up About Mental Health - kkccb.net

Selena Gomez has opened up about therapy in a new interview, joining other celebrities willing to share their mental health struggles with fans. Demi Lovato and Justin Bieber, who both have past relationships with Selena, have also come forward to discuss the importance of self-love, self-care, and the need for therapy.

As Selena has opened up about her physical battles with Lupus, she has become a voice for those who deal with anxiety-related disorders, depression, and panic attacks.

Selena’s willingness to speak about mental health extends beyond interviews as she served as executive producer for the Netflix series 13 Reasons Why that dealt with the subjects of teen bullying, rape, depression, and suicide.

Celebrities speaking about mental health issues drew plenty of social media coverage over the Easter holiday when Britney Spears announced she entered a facility to help her deal with the overwhelming stress caused by her father’s illness. Some fans were worried that she had been involuntarily admitted, but that proved not to be the case.

Britney Spears took control of her own mental health, sought treatment and is now home. Selena Gomez and other celebrities who are speaking publicly about their mental health issues and willingness to seek treatment are enabling their fans to speak openly about their struggles as well.

Selena Gomez opened up about her mental health struggles, fame, and issues related to her self-image growing up in the spotlight on the debut episode of the Coach podcast “Dream It Real.”

Selena stated the following.

“I am a believer of therapy. I wish I could have done a lot of things and experienced things maybe a little differently. I go to therapy. It’s just one of the most important things — to get to know yourself. Not saying everyone in the world has to do it! But I do think that it’s helped me understand myself and my childhood a lot better.”
