Disney Plus Is Coming And People Think Streaming Media Is Going To Change In Disney"s Favor - kkccb.net

Disney already owns shares in several streaming media companies including Hulu, Hotstar, ESPN+ but many believe the playing field will change once Disney+ comes to the masses on November 12, 2019. The announcement was made at the 2019 Disney Investor Day that Disney Plus is coming and bringing with it a sweeping wave of top movies, television series, and exclusive network programming. After the event, Disney’s stock soared while Netflix’s tumbled.

Disney+ will feature content from the following: Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars and National Geographic for $6.99 a month.

The service will include more than 25 original series and 10 original movies.

Disney+ will be the exclusive home to the entire series of The Simpsons.

Disney Chief Executive Officer Kevin Mayer released a statement about Disney+ and its future programming.

“We’re extremely excited about our growing portfolio of direct-to-consumer offerings. As we demonstrated today, with Disney+ we will deliver extraordinary entertainment in innovative ways to audiences around the world. We’ll continue to enhance the user experience with a constant pipeline of high-quality programming, making the service even more appealing to consumers.”

The official Disney-insider site Oh My Disney showcased what’s coming to Disney on their site.

Disney + will premiere in the United States with plans to reach all major, worldwide platforms within two years.

Some people feel that other streaming media platforms are going to see a drastic decrease in subscribers due to Disney+ content and affordable price. At $6.99 per month, Disney holds a distinct advantage over other streaming services.

Early response to the announcement has been huge with many people sharing their excitement for the upcoming streaming service on social media. As each Disney-owned brand has some of the largest fan bases worldwide, it’s easy to see how this is a winning situation for investors.

For decades Star Wars has held the largest fanbase worldwide and just Star Wars alone would be enough to make a streaming service a success. To combine the fan base of Star Wars with Marvel and then add Disney and Pixar movies to the mix, you have a content base that appeals to the largest group of fans worldwide.

Disney+ promises their worldwide fans exclusive content including the upcoming Marvel Studios’ series Loki starring Tom Hiddleston. That series promises to be a huge success to Marvel fans worldwide.

What do you think? Is Disney+ going to change streaming media in its favor?
